Diving into 2009

We think Lukas is...

Lukas started the new year with solid foods! He had his first taste of sweet potatoes and loved them. We've tried cereal over and over again and he is just NOT a fan. So we skipped the whole cereal phase and moved right into the yummy stuff. He was so excited he was jumping up and down (well bouncing) when he saw the spoon coming in for a landing.

Along with the solid foods, I am insisting on getting this little man on a schedule. The 20 minute cat naps and every two hour feedings are getting REALLY old. While he sleeps through the night, I am now hoping we can get him on a schedule. (I'll let you know how he cooperates). What is so funny about Lukas is that he is the cutest, smiliest, happiest, sweetest little guy when anyone is around. "He is so happy.", "He is so quiet." "He is so content." "You are so lucky to have such a good baby."....well this is a facade at times. When the house is quiet and it is just me and Lukas.....some other baby takes over his body and turns him into my little monster. I still love this little monster but he makes me pull my hair out. This week I NEEDED to clean this house...it had been almost 2 months. And it took me 3 days to get it done! But it is done and the sweet Lukas has returned. I am attributing this to separation anxiety. My mom and I discussed this and I logged on to BabyCenter.com (my favorite site) and my update for this week read- "As your baby gets older, he may start to cry when you leave the room and get excited when you come back in. He may also raise his arms when he wants to be picked up and give you pats on the back." Wow, Lukas must have read the same site! HE is right on track and knows how he should be acting!

There is the monster I write of!

If you are into photography or just have a good eye-you may have noticed that the pictures above are of MUCH better quality. Matt and I have been discussing getting an SLR camera for awhile. We both enjoy taking pictures of our little guy and want good quality. So we went for it and called it our Christmas present to ourselves. Now along with golf, we can both enjoy photography! Here are some more picts. taken with our new toy!
