We had an absolutely WONDERFUL trip to San Diego. Lukas was really good on the plane, besides his very loud voice. It sometimes sounds like crying, but really he is just talking, talking, talking. Lukas got to experience so many things that most children don't get to experience so early in life.
1. An airplane ride...my first was in 2nd grade!
2. Visiting California with Great Grandparents...First, I only met one Great Grandpa when I was very young and second, I did not go to Cali until much later in life.
3. Swimming in a pool!
4. Swimming in a spa!
5. Wine tasting...most don't accomplish this until at least 21
6. Seeing the ocean
7. Seeing a military ship
8. Riding in a golf cart
9. Tasting frozen yogurt from the Golden Spoon (only the BEST frozen yogurt that exists!)
10. Having such a big family to receive so much love from!
We had a wonderful trip with so many good memories. While Lukas wont remember them, we took enough pictures to make sure he knows he was there!
While we loved being gone, we love our life in Chicago too. Today Lukas is 5 months old and I feel more blessed than ever to have him as part of our lives. He is now talking up a STORM! He just wants to be heard. I cant wait to hear what his first word will be. I will bet Da-Da. Matt and Lukas have such a special bond. Mothers have an instinct and just now how to love and hold babies. This is not something commonly found in men. But Matt has "it", I haven't figured out what the "it" is yet, but maybe Lukas can shed some light for me someday. He is an amazing dad. When Lukas cant settle down, just pass him to Daddy and everything is okay. We love each and every moment spent with our little Luke.
Today we celebrated Christmas with the Bickels at Aunt Debbie's house. It was a really nice time and Lukas was yet again well behaved! We got some cute shots and more are coming from others' cameras!
