Goodbye Albert

For the last two weeks I have given Lukas the nickname Albert. As in Albert Einstein...

Do you see the resemblance? If you can't figure it out, its the hair! His hair has been out of control. I know most babies do not get their hair cut at 6 months, but our wonderful hair dresser, Kim, said she would do it no problem. Lukas was great and had a good time! He also got to experience yummy food today...bananas for our little monkey. Dinner was peas and bananas, cant imagine which he preferred

Playing with his favorite toy...his basketball hoop

Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh My!

Lukas experienced his first trip to the zoo today. Yes, it was 22 degrees out...but when you have been trapped in the house by frigid conditions for 3 days, that seems quite warm! There are actually many inside exhibits. Apparently most people don't know that though...there were about 20 cars in the parking lot. This made it perfect for us because we were able to break the no stroller rules very easily! Lukas slept through a lot of it but was awake for the penguins, gorillas and dolphins. He really liked it! He stared at the animals and talked to them. Going to the zoo was something I was so excited to do this with Lukas this summer...but we decided not to wait so long! This got us to talking about all the really fun things we will get to experience with him this summer and we cant wait!

Lukas added peas to his diet this week and really loves them. (Daddy wanted to vomit while feeding them to Lukas!) Lukas is sitting up more and more. The baby update says he should start saying a syllables VERY SOON.  I am really pushing for Ma and Daddy is hoping for Da:) It sounds like an animal farm around here as we try to teach him syllables through animal sounds.

We love this little man more than we could have EVER imagined! It has been said that you never really appreciate your parents until you have children of your own. I get it now. Every decision we make, waking hour and pieces of our hearts are devoted to this little guy.

With that said, Mom and Dad-Thank you for Everything you have done for me and the love you have given me!

First trip of many, I'm sure

Isn't it supposed to be 70 and sunny when attending the zoo?

Daddy being silly...he spotted a primate

Just woke up from a nap

Family

With our new camera, we have been taking tons and tons of pictures. I couldnt decide what to write about, so I chose FAMILY. Each week there is at least one picture of someone other than Matt or me holding Lukas. Lukas is one of the luckiest little babies I know. He has so many wonderful people in his life. He is soooo loved. 5 great-grandparents, 4 grandparents, 2 awesome uncles, 1 wonderful aunt (I feel like I'm singing the twelve days of Christmas), great-great aunts and uncles, great aunts, great uncles and TONS of second cousins. I cant wait for him to get old enough to recognize everyone and know all their names...he will have SO much fun! Here are some recent pictures of family.

Smiling at Poppi--I think Lukas is most intrigued with his Poppi...he ALWAYS has a smile for him

Aunt Becca's house for game night...Some late for Lukas lately!

Snow Day!

We have been talking about taking Lukas out in the snow. We searched and searched for mittens that stay on his hands...and they just don't exist. So we decided we would tuck them into his snow suit and hope for at least 5 minutes of snow time. He looked around and seemed very interested in the snow...but then his little baby hands got cold and we quickly ended our excursion...but it was fun while it lasted!

DONT MAKE ME GO OUT THERE!

Snow baby

What a big boy!

Lots and lots of snow!

What is going on?

Dont put me down...please dont!
