Trick or ROAR!

Happy Halloween! 


We had a VERY FUN DAY! Lukas did not even know what hit him! FREE CANDY? WHAT, EVERYONE WE KNOW IS HANDING OUT FREE CANDY??? This concept was beyond the belief of Lukas. He had everyone on our block drooling over his costume and at the end of the night began saying "Trick or ROAR". That is when the candy bowls began to empty into his trick or treat basket. I am not sure he has had that much candy in his whole life! Nonie, GG, Grammi, Poppi and Rick came over to help us celebrate. Our little Lion and Tiger were too cute!  

Why, Mommy, Why?????

Why? Why? Why? The why stage has officially begun in the Samuels' household. Day 1 down hopefully only a few more to go. While why becomes quite old very quickly it also makes you really stop and think.

"Lukas, sit down" "Why?"...hmm well because you might fall and crack your head open?

"Lukas, you cant eat the pumpkin" "Why?"....because you are a human being!

"Lukas tell me when you have to go potty" "Why?"....because I dont want to clean up pee all over my floor!

"Lukas, please dont touch the stove" "Why?" Youll burn your hand!

"Lukas please stop chasing Daisy" "Why?" You are lucky she hasnt bitten you yet!

and so on and so on....

While the twos can be very terrible they can be so much fun too! Lukas is starting to learn so much about our world and how it works. He is learning all our fun traditions and loves every second of it. He remembers all those people he loves and talks about them constantly. Jakob is just happy to go along for the ride. They are two peas in a pod...

Say What?

Just wanted to write this down so we dont forget it...

Today we were at Costco doing a little grocery shopping. Lukas was guiding us around the store as usual and entertaining everyone in our path. He looked up and saw a Santa Clause statue and said, "Mommy, look..Ho Ho Ho!" Excuse me? What? Really? He honestly remembered Santa from last year at the young age of 17 months. Are you kidding me? To make sure he was not just pulling our leg we asked again and he told us that man says ho ho ho. I knew he caught on quick but really, honestly? I think we are in for a bit of trouble...

This little parrot picks up EVERYTHING. On our way home Jakob was crying and crying. Our tiny backseat driver says..."Jakob, zip it...pipe down...seriously?" Yes, he said seriously! Heaven Help Us!

Tough Nights

The past few night have been TOUGH. I cant believe that this perfect, super baby has turned into a nocturnal grunter in 2 days. Matt and I are running on empty. Let it get better soon. Some pictures of our weekend. Obviously there were many good parts...but we looked very tired!:)

4 months

Jake is 4 months, ALREADY! It is hard to believe this little man has been with us for 4 whole months. At time same time, I cant remember our lives without with smiley face and hysterical laugh. He is honestly one of the happiest babies I know. He is rarely fussy and ALWAYS sleeping or smiling. He has even been referred to as "super baby". I dont know what we did to get this lucky but I know I am. He is still sleeping great. There is the occasional night he requires some extra food but because Matt is awesome he has been getting up with Jake. The only thing about this boy is his NEED for FOOD. He mastered the art of eating cereal in one sitting and just cant get enough in that tummy! He is now onto solid foods per the doctor. It seems a little early to me but she said it is fine. So tonight he had peas and he loved them. He ate the ENTIRE jar! Well ALMOST the entire jar...Lukas wanted to try them too:) I have a feeling Jakob is going to require us to make weekly trips to Costco when he gets older.

When I first found out I was having another boy, I couldnt believe it and even was a bit sad. But honestly, I am not sure I could be any happier. Jakob and Lukas love each other so much. They are already interacting and I hope they become the best of friends.
