Time to go back
Its that time again...back to school. I have completely mixed emotions this time. While I will miss my two little guys beyond belief, I know teaching is what I am meant to do. I went in for two days last week and felt right back in my element. I am super excited for all the challenges that lay ahead with my students. I cant wait to make an impact on yet another set of lives. My children were lucky enough to be born into a stable home filled with love and many experiences. Many of the children I teach are not so lucky. So I feel it is my responsibility to be that for them, even if it is only for a few hours a day. With that said, Im ready to go back. There will be tears when Luke and Jake go to Miss Debbie on Monday but when I pick them up they will be smiling as always. We feel blessed to have Debbie in our lives. I do not questions the boys' safety or happiness during the day. I know I am making others feel safe and happy during the day. So it's time to start my 5th year of teaching...excuse me, what? 5th year? Yes...oh how time flies!

New Buffalo
Its been a busy week so here is our long overdue account of New Buffalo.
Basically we had a wonderful time. Lukas absolutely loved the beach and the pool. He was in heaven. I see a future Michael Phelps in our lives. He can swim really well and is not afraid of water at all! He loved the sand and sun. The whole trip I felt a little guilty about Jakob. He could not be in the sun so he was banished to his little tent. Much of the trip, I was imagining next summer when the boys could interact and we could enjoy the beach as a family. Matt and I had to take turns going in the lake or staying back with Jakob. At the same time, I know Lukas was having a blast and that is what mattered. We spent the evenings walking around town and enjoying each other. It was the perfect way to end the summer. We have lots of fun memories and cant wait to go back next year!

But mommy....
I want to suck my thumb!
Today at the doctor I was informed that my little baby boy Lukas needs to stop sucking his thumb. This breaks my heart. When he sucks his thumb he looks so sweet (well when the finger isnt up his nose). This means he isnt a baby anymore but a little boy...and that makes me sad.
Lucky for me...I have another little baby boy to warm my heart. Our little Jakob is 6 weeks and growing strong. He loves to coo, laugh, smile and kick his little legs. He is very content. Matt's cousins refer to him as "Jake-Super baby...crying is for Losers!" Hilarious!
Jakob is in the 90th percentile for height...wow! And our little Lukas is finally in the 50th percentile for both height and weight...yeah! We are so lucky!
