Putting it in perspective...

When your body adjusts post baby it takes a lot out of a person. There are some RAGING hormones, some baby blues, lots of happiness and lots of love. It does not take much to get sad and upset. It is really easy to focus on what is going wrong and really hard to always treat those who show you love kindly when you feel a bit outta wack.

Those days are over...well at least I hope/will try. Its time to put it in perspective and stop worrying about those who dont meet expectations and cause pain and focus on those who love. Thank you to everyone who has helped us in these past 3.5 months through bed rest and a new baby. It has been quite a challenging spring. While I love challenges, I was ready for some normalcy....WRONG

Today, I discovered I had an infection in c-section incision. SO, the doctor had to open it back up. My secret doctor of a grandma came with me and watched the whole thing go down so my secret nurse husband can change the dressing (NOT PRETTY) and make it all better. How lucky am I to have people who are so willing to help. Me, I would be no help in this situation, as I would be on the floor.

So we have another hurdle and will climb or even jump over it..well this time I am going to crawl, since I think I pushed myself a little too much last time.

Our little boy is doing so well and is almost down to only 1 night time feeding...YEA! HAPPY 1 month BIRTHDAY Jakey Wakey. His new nickname as he is bright eyed many hours of the day. Lukas was nicknamed Pukas...I think Jake got the better end of the deal....and us:)

What will next week bring? Who knows but I know we can get through it!

Time flies when you're...having 2 kids:)

I was convinced I would be able to keep up with this blog after Jakob was born. This is not proving to be true:( Now that things are coming under control, I hope to continue to keep up to date! I really want to document all things Jakob and keep current with Lukas' new adventures!

During these past 24 days....A LOT has happened!

-Jakob has grown a bunch and continues to eat A LOT. At 2 weeks he was eating 3 oz. every three hours and is now up to 4 oz. every 3 hours. I keep joking that he is going to be so tall we will have to move into a house with taller doorways! He is a wonderful baby, just like Lukas was. He barely ever cries-only when his tummy is rumbling. He is ALMOST smiling and loves to track us and watch what we are doing. He is very noisy. He kind of mumbles or grumbles. It is really cute...and even cuter when Lukas is imitating his every sound.

-For the past two weeks he is only waking up once in the night and once in the early morning. Luckily for me, I have a husband who is willing to share the feedings. Well, except for last night...he did them both! Lucky me! Maybe we can get him to sleep through the night quickly! I have to look back at Lukas' blog to see when he started to!

-Lukas is adjusting. He had a rough week or so but is back on track. He did a little hitting and biting (just me, not Jake) but is over it. We are currently working on potty training. We'll see how that goes. He has been doing great, who wouldn't for a marshmellow? Lukas loves giving Jakob kisses and singing to him. It is just precious.

-Me, well I am STILL adjusting. I feel like I am finally getting the hang of being a mommy of two...but its not easy! We are in a routine and love our walks. Thank goodness for all the nice parks in Lake Zurich. Lukas was waking up at 4:30 for awhile. On those days we had been to every park in a 3 mile radius by 8 am. Thank goodness for naps. Luke has been taking 2.5 hour naps. This gives me time to catch up on business, play with Jake alone and now blog;) This is something I would not have if Lukas was older...1, and the only 1 advantage of having them close together I can think of right now:) Soon though, when they are best friends, or beating each other up...I know Ill see all the benefits of having them close in age.

Here are some picts. of our 24 day journey....
