Excuse me, how many months ago?

7...7 months. OMG 7 months ago little Jakob Mark entered our lives. It is absolutely AMAZING how 7 months can fly by! Our tiny little long figured baby brother to Lukas is now a sitting up ready to crawl any day now almost the same size as Lukas brother! Jake is developing into a Samuels boy all his own. It is so hard not to compare the boys. We are constantly looking at old picts of Luke, his growth chart, milestones and videos but in reality Jakob is his own boy. He will develop the way he wants to. The older he gets the less I think he will be anything like his older brother. Jakob is such a sweet, calm good natured baby. I have a feeling he is going to be sweeter than sweet. He smiles and smiles and smiles with NO COMPLAINING. On Sunday we found out he had a double ear infection in both ears...you would NEVER had known. Not one little peep of frustration out of this little guy. While Lukas is demanding and full of spunk, Jake is docile and cuddly. We are just waiting for the moment he begins to crawl. Lukas is going to be overfilled with joy! They are now interacting more than ever. I see instant playmates in the near future.

We had a wonderful Christmas. 5 Christmas celebrations to be exact. Matt claims we mind as well be Jewish:) Lukas and Jakob got more toys than we know what to do with! Our house has been taken over by Hotwheels and Fisher Price. The best part of Christmas was Christmas morning when it was just the four of us. We have such great families but being together just the four of us was so fun.

ROLLS HIS EYES when he is annoyed...seriously? Where did he learn such a thing?

is extremely helpful! Wants to help with every task down to wiping Jake's bottom

is the ONLY kids who likes "No-Bite" it is impossible to get his to stop sucking his thumb (and scratching   his nose)! He hides his face under the pillow "I not!"

plays alone....this is amazing when dinner needs to be made!

loves Jungle Book!

plays with trains, cars and balls..what else would a boy like?

sees men with white beards and just assumes they are Santa

loves stuffed animals and makes them all kiss each other

talks and interacts with Jakob non-stop

is a little sneak! Pretends he is doing something else when he is getting into something!

will do ANYTHING for candy! Especially go on the potty!

Prefers green candy but will only choose a color that matches what he is wearing!

likes to "line up" everything...OCD like his mom???

sits for extended periods of time watching the computer slide show and naming all the people he loves

is totally able to use an Iphone!

talks on the phone to any and everyone

loves books...I mean loves them!

thinks he can read books and even makes up stories based on the pictures

can count to 15 (he skips 4 every now and then)

knows his ABCs

admires all things Christmas

Happy Half Birthday to Jake

No "Jingle Bells" around this house today...."Happy Birthday" was the song of the day! Today we celebrated Jakob and the fact that he has been part of our family for 6 months today!!! Lukas thought it was a great day! Jakob must have known that it was his birthday today because he started getting up on his knees and ALMOST crawling. He just has to hit his milestones!:) He is log rolling, as we call it, like crazy! One minute he is by the couch, the next he is on the other side of the room! He is mobile! He smiles and interacts with us...I am just waiting to hear that first word...mama:) Such a fun birthday for such a sweet, smiley little Jakey!

We had a great and long Thanksgiving...I guess the longer it is and more people we have to see, the more thankful we should be!!!

Santa's watching!

The Christmas cheer is in full swing over at the Samuels' household! We put up our tree and decorated last weekend. Lukas is ALL about Christmas...taking after his mom! He loves the music, the decorations and talking about Santa (or Nicholas..as he refers to him). He wanted to hang each and every ornament and touch every single light. Lukas helped to decorate the house and we have brought Harold, our very own elf, into our house. Harold, our elf on the shelf, is mommy and daddy's new best friend! As soon as Lukas is acting out all we have to do is mention that Harold is watching and will report his behavior to Santa and BAM our sweet little Lukas reappears!!!! 

I cant even describe how special it is to start family traditions that Lukas now understands. As we were unpacking our boxes upon boxes of Christmas "stuff" Matt mentioned that I wait ALL year for this...and he is right! I just love the Christmas season and love that Lukas loves it even more!!!

Jakob is really giving us a run for our money right now. Our little guy who decided to sleep through the night at 6 weeks is PAYING US BACK! He is up every night hungry for MORE FOOD! This kid never stops eating! We go through a can of formula a week on top of 4 jars of baby food a day! Im not sure where it is all going but obviously he needs it!

Last week I took Lukas to our school musical, Willy Wonka. He was in awe the entire play. Just love that Lukas shares in all my interests...
