A Shout Out to my Gram

This weekend my Gram was at our house from Arizona. This post is a shout out to her. When I said goodbye on Sunday and drove home, I thought about how absolutely amazing she is. I have always had a connection with my Gram. Ever since she moved to Arizona when I was in second grade I have been flying each Spring Break (ALONE!) to see her. In 5th grade, this may be considered normal...but I spent my college spring breaks to see her. She may think its because her backyard had a beautiful pool and palm trees, but it was the company. My Gram and I can stay up all night and attempt to solve the problems of the world or shop for hours upon hours until we find just what we were, or weren't looking for. We have been known to pull all-nighters just discussing life under the stars in the spa. I feel so lucky to have her!!

Run, Monkey, Run....

Yesterday Lukas, Matt and I walked in the 9th annual Shannon McNamara Memorial 5K Run/2 Mile Walk. I have attended as many of these as I can to support my best friend, Courtney and her sister Melanie. Shannon was one of Melanie's best friends and was tragically murdered in her apartment at Eastern. Such a horrible, horrible crime on such a beautiful young woman. Her friends and Rolling Meadows High School have done a wonderful job remembering and memorializing her through the walk. Part of the walk is a Halloween costume contest for the little kids...I know this will come as a surprise...but Lukas won for 5 and under:)

Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we braved the cold and headed to the pumpkin farm. We thought Lukas would LOVE it...I would say it was closer to like. He was just mesmerized by the entire thing. He looked over each pumpkin and stared at the animals but wasn't his LOUD, and I mean LOUD self. That is until the apple cider and apple cider donuts were involved...that he LOVED. Hilarious...cant imagine who he gets that from???? Overall it was a good time...but not the best photo opts.

Fire truck pict. from last year and now.....
This year....MUCH BIGGER!

This year...Dont EVER let me go back to short, dark hair!

Growing up...

Dear Little Lukas,

You are growing up so very quickly! You are no longer a little baby but a little man. You walk everywhere we go. You can say a few more words, bye bye, hi, ball, dada and Daisy. You love to read books and yet play like a true boy with your fire trucks. Daddy and I just love watching you every move! I just cant believe we will be going to your 15 month check up soon!!! You LOVE climbing up and downstairs. You are just amazed with yourself. Your personality shines through in everything you do. You want attention from everyone and imitate all our moves. You shake your butt when music comes on and are a scary monster when prompted. Having you in our lives allows us to be filled with joy at all times!

Im talking to YOU!

Look at those teeth!
