2 Years

Today is our 2nd anniversary. It does not seem like 2 years ago today that we had the celebration of my dreams. What a beautiful day we had. So much has changed since then but the love is still the same, or stronger.

11 Months Old...

Little Luke,

Happy 11 months! You are NO LONGER a baby at all! You are SO BIG! Your voice is big, your stance is big, a you create BIG smiles on people's faces. You crave the spot light-cant imagine where you got that from. I am not sure if this is the age, or your personality. Daddy and I are trying to find a balance so you get just the right amount of attention. Everything reaction I make to you, I think about.

When we are out and about you flirt with all the girls. You smile and wave as they pass by and hearts melt. You know how to get a reaction. In the car you yell and yell until I sing or talk to you. You wont be ignored:) In the morning, you hear the birdies chirping and you too become a birdy until Daddy or I come and get you. This week you are off the bottle. Only sippy cups for this big you. You are an EXCELLENT eater. You love the strangest foods...or should I say ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING! When we go out to eat, you have no problem eating off everyone's plates. You better be out of the 5th percentile for your 12 month check up!:)

It looks like you will walk any day. You are a seasoned crawler and appear to be ready for the next step. You love to crawl up to the kitchen and walk along the banister, you crack yourself up.

I love being home more with you this summer. We play in your pool and go to the park! You love Alex, your cousin-sitter:) It is has just been a great summer so far.

As we plan for your first birthday party I have such mixed feelings. I am so glad a little boy has replaced the newborn baby but at the same time, I miss those days so much. When we go to the park and see the little boys playing baseball, I cant wait for the day you are out there. We have so much to look forward to and so many memories to cherish but most of all we have the special times right here and now with the sweetest little boy in the world!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy

We celebrated Father's Day at Arlington Park with Matt's family. It was a fun day! REALLY HOT and SWEATY, but we made it through. We dont look beautiful in the photos...but we had fun!

Lukas is so incredibly lucky to have Matt as a dad. Anyone who has seen Matt with Lukas knows this is the case. Everything in our family is 50/50. Talk about a hands on dad...Matt does it all. Lukas squeals with delight when Daddy gets home from work. They play and cuddle. Bath and books before bed are a ritual. I know Lukas and Matt will have a special bond. Lukas doesnt even know how lucky he is...but on day he will:) HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, MATT...I love you!:)

Lukas WILL be an ILLINI....Baby follow in the footsteps of Mommy, Aunt Becca, Aunt Sara, Uncles Kyle and Matthew...PUR-DON'T! (sorry Daddy)

Arizona

We had a really fun time in Arizona....4 generations...WOW! Lukas was well behaved for the first few days and then.....AHHHH!!! The lack of routine and familiarity over took him. We survived it, but just barely! Lukas loved the pool and his little float. Some pictures below!

Just being silly....

10 Months....

Dear little Luke,

You are really becoming a boy this month. You make LOTS of noise and laugh and laugh and LAUGH! You also have started to try and make me and Daddy laugh! You are just a little comedian! You can walk while hold on to things and have major stranger anxiety! You are sweet and cuddly again...love to be held. Baby food is just too bland for your taste buds now. You eat table food and table food alone. Our little munchkin is still little for his age...but with the amount of food he eats, it cant last for too long.

Starting Tuesday its just me and you for awhile! We are off on Wednesday for our tripe to Arizona with Grammi to visit GG and Great Grampy! I cant wait for you to meet Aunt Tracy, Uncle Emmett, Emma and Trevor, too! Pictures to come soon!
