Me and My Teddy

Look how Lukas has grown during these past 8 months!!!!

1 month old

8 months old....

You are 8 months old today, or 2/3rd of a year!!!! My how time passes so quickly!!!! This month you have grown SO Much! You have said your first word, roll like crazy, can "crawl" backwards and have learned to wave! Yes you heard me right, you can wave!!!! I was determined to have you crawling by the end of Spring Break...I have 1 more day! One of your favorite things to do now is to sit at the computer, listen to music and watch all of the pictures. You wave to Mommy, Daddy and Lukas. You get most excited when you see recent pictures of yourself. You are such a sweet baby with an adorable personality. You will give anyone a smile and such that thumb constantly. I am sure we will have many struggles over the thumb in the future.

Over Spring Break one of the my favorite things we did was lay in Mommy and Daddy's bed together for about an hour each morning. Just you and me snuggling and talking. It was so relaxing and all my attention went to you. It is those times I wish I could stay home with you each and everyday. But then I wonder, would I really cherish the times I have with you as much if I were with you each day? I guess this summer will give me a little more insight!:)

This month we went swinging at the park, swimming at Grammi's pool and house hunting. So many experiences. I believe it is so important to enrich children to the max. The more you see and do the more intelligent and well rounded you will be. Building a schema is so important for being a good reader...yes all that money for grad school is paying off:)

You LOVE to eat. You have your 8 month check up Tuesday and I am SURE you will be out of the 10th percentile. You are eating stage 3 foods and loving each and every bite!!!! You are just so sweet and lovable, Mommy and Daddy would not know what to do without you anymore. Get ready for an exciting month with a big move...you get a new bedroom and a nice big backyard!

Short and Sweet

We got the house we wanted! It is in Lake Zurich on Turtle Pond Court...I know kind of a yucky street name, but it works! It is right near the Costco on Rand Road, not even that far down Rand. It is in an adorable neighborhood with lots of parks! It has a big backyard for Lukas and Daisy, a basement for Matt and an awesome master bath for me! How perfect!!!! We close on both houses on April 24th, one month from tomorrow! CRAZY! We are so excited!

Sold!

Our house sold! YEAH! We are so excited it happened so quickly, lucky us! We have found a house and are waiting for the results of our home inspection...

While I am so excited to have a backyard and more room, today I was very sad. It was beautiful out and we spent the day bike riding and walking our neighborhood. While we have only lived here two years, I personally have lived in North Hoffman since 1st grade. To move away makes me very sad. A new Jewel, new streets/short cuts, new lakes and ponds, new bike trails, new parks, new schools, new neighbors, and last not living close to my mom and dad. Being able to walk around the block to their house has been amazing. Having someone so close to help with Lukas...words cannot describe. But on days like today where it was beautiful out and we just strolled over to say hi...that is what Ill miss the most. But mom map quested it and its only 12 minutes away, that's not too far. And who knows, maybe they'll decide they miss us too and will move closer!

On the Lukas front...

Lukas is babbling like no other and said his first word "dada"... While I am a bit hurt that he exclaimed his dad's name after I carried him for 9 months and was cut open so he could enter this magnificent world, I realize Lukas is so lucky to have an excellent dad like Matt. In other words, fine say dada first. Lukas is learning to wave and give high fives. If you haven't seen him in awhile you will be astonished when you see this smiling burst of energy again. He changes from week to week, it is amazing.
